Wet facade: materials list and order of work
One list, so that you do not drive to the warehouse five times. The norms are for 100 m² of wall; multiply for your own area.
List for 100 m²
- Stone wool 120 kg/m³, 100 mm: 107 m², which is 50 packs of 2.16 m² with a 7% reserve.
- IZL-T disc dowels: 8L×170 for concrete and solid brick, 8L×190 for hollow brick, 8L×210 for aerated block, 600 pieces.
- Retaining washers 60 mm for wool: 600 pieces.
- Adhesive and base coat for insulation: chosen to suit the system — recommended, but not in our range; ask the manager.
- Fibreglass mesh 160 g/m²: 110 m² with overlaps, 3 rolls of 50 m².
- Plaster corner beads with mesh: by the length of corners and reveals, usually 40–60 pieces.
- Finish: decorative render and facade paint in two coats are recommended, but they are not in our range.
Order of layers
Clean and prime the wall. Fix the starter profile at the bottom, and on it the first row of slabs on adhesive, with joints staggered like brickwork. A day later, drive the dowels: one in the centre of each slab, the rest in the joints. Close corners and reveals with a corner bead with mesh. Apply a base layer of 3–4 mm, embed the mesh in it with a 100 mm overlap and cover it with a second layer, 5–6 mm in total. After 3–5 days, apply primer and decorative render, and a day or two later paint in two coats.
What is most often forgotten
The starter profile and the drip edge above windows — without them water gets under the insulation. A reserve of mesh for the overlap. Dowels of two lengths, if the house has both brick and concrete belts. And timing: the base layer must not be dried in July sun, so the facade is shaded or worked on from early morning.
Ordering in one list
The insulation, dowels, washers, mesh and corner beads from the list are in different sections of the shop, and the insulation, dowel and mesh calculators work them out for your area; adhesive, decorative render and paint are not in our range. The manager checks stock at the warehouse and puts the order together for a single delivery.
