Plugs, hammer-in fixings and anchors

Prices and stock — Tbilisi warehouse. Order online in a minute.

Universal fixings are consumables that a site needs all the time and by the box. Quick-fix nail plugs SM-L (countersunk head) and SM-G (mushroom head) are driven in with a hammer and hold battens, profiles and cable trunking. Tchapai and SHIPI expansion plugs work in concrete and solid brick: they are taken for screws when an adjustable tightening is needed. For hollow substrates — drywall and hollow blocks — there are TNF butterfly anchors and Molly metal anchors, which open out behind the sheet. Aluminium blind rivets go on profiles, flashings and ventilated-facade subframes. Small parts are sold in packs; the price list shows the number of pieces in each.

About this section: Plugs, hammer-in fixings and anchors

Universal fixings are the plugs and anchors for everyday building and renovation work, from skirting boards to boilers. The section is organised on the principle “one type for one job”, so you do not have to guess. Tchapai and SHIPI expansion plugs, with barbs and wings that stop them turning, hold in concrete and solid brick for screws: shelves, curtain rails, kitchen cabinets, brackets. The ZUM plug in 6 and 8 mm is the simple choice for a household screw; its length, from 32 to 52 mm, is chosen by the thickness of the plaster.

The quick-fix nail plugs SM-L and SM-G are driven in with a hammer, with no turning, and are used for guide rails, skirting, cable trunking and metal profile. The SM-L with a countersunk rim sinks into the part, and the SM-G with a mushroom head presses down soft materials. For drywall and hollow substrates there are Molly metal anchors, which open out behind the sheet and hold shelves, small cabinets and a TV on a fixed bracket (boilers and washbasins are hung only on embedded blocking); TNF butterfly anchors and DRIVA and TT-22 self-drilling plugs are rated for light loads.

KRHP hook plugs and KRHS half-ring plugs are for hanging chandeliers, planters, cables and swings. Aluminium blind rivets join sheet metal and profiles from one side of the part.

When choosing a size, the first number is the hole diameter and the second the length. Choose the length so that the plug sits fully in the base and not in the plaster. Sold in packs of 50 to 2000 pieces; the quantity is shown on the product card. Wholesale terms apply for foremen and installation crews, depending on volume.

Frequently asked questions

Which plug do I need for drywall?

For an unsupported sheet, use TNF butterfly anchors or Molly metal anchors — they open out behind the sheet and spread the load. An ordinary expansion plug does not hold in drywall.

What is the difference between SM-L and SM-G?

Both are quick-fix nail plugs. SM-L has a countersunk head that sits flush; SM-G has a mushroom head with a wide cap, used to press down cable, mesh and thin materials.

Are fixings sold singly?

The price is given per piece, but fixings ship in the manufacturer’s packs — the description of each item states the number of pieces in a pack.
