A tie holds the formwork panels at the set distance and takes the full pressure of fresh concrete — it carries the main load when walls are poured. The universal tie comes as a set of 2 without clips; the BEFAST kit comes with an M tie and clips, which speeds up assembling and stripping the panels. Extenders are used when the wall thickness goes beyond the standard tie size. Rebar fixers, which are sold singly, keep the cage in place inside the formwork so that vibration does not move it. The contents of each item are stated in its name — note the number of pieces in the set, which differs.

About this section: Formwork ties and accessories
BEFAST consumables for panel formwork do one job: hold the panels at the set distance under concrete pressure and let you strip the formwork without losses. The universal tie joins two panels through the wall, the clips fix it to the panel without tools, and the extender makes up the wall thickness you need, from 150 to 400 mm. The “constructor” kit already contains the tie and clips, and the individual items are for topping up a set. Formwork rebar fixers hold the cage at the set distance from the panel and set the concrete cover.
The plastic is resistant to impact and to the alkaline environment of concrete, and the ties are reusable: after stripping they are taken out and go to the next pour. Consumption is worked out from the wall area: with a 40×40 cm tie grid, 6.25 ties per square metre of panel (with a 50×50 cm grid, 4); the design sets the spacing, with a closer one in the bottom row and at corners. Together with the ties, take the 25 mm tubes and cones from the rebar spacers section: the tube is put on the tie rod, the cones close the hole on both sides, and after stripping the wall keeps a clean channel.
Sold by the piece, VAT included. For monolithic sites the manager prepares the set from the formwork drawing, with a 5–7% reserve for losses.

Frequently asked questions
How many ties do I need per panel?
The layout depends on the pour height and concrete pressure — usually 4–6 ties per standard panel. The work method statement sets the scheme.
Can the ties be reused?
The clips and outer parts can, if you strip carefully. The tie itself stays in the concrete inside the wall and is cut off flush.
What does the BEFAST kit give me?
The clips are already in the set, so panels go up and come down faster — you do not have to buy and match separate parts.
