Description
Stone (basalt) wool is a non-combustible (class A1) slab insulation; it lets vapour through and absorbs noise. Choose the density by use: from 120 kg/m³ for rendered facades of any height and for partitions; 90–110 kg/m³ for rendered facades of low-rise houses (up to 10 m); 70–80 kg/m³ for ventilated facades, where the wool sits between the guides under no load; any of these slabs suits a pitched roof between rafters; 140–190 kg/m³ for flat roofs and floors under a screed (ask the manager for the compressive strength). Slabs are sold in packs (the pack area is in the name); for 50 mm slabs it is 4.32 m², and the required thickness is built up in layers: 100 mm is two layers, 150 mm three.
